Since my last message in April of this year, I have heard from a couple of people from the seventies. Would still like to hear from anyone that remembers me, especially anyone from the 5th year (71-72), or those that also remember, Jan Irvine, Viv Stone, Terry Ford Bev Fletcher to name but a few, or if you were one of the 'Berliners' who spent many hours on the train back and forth to school each term.

Every time I log into the visitors book I am confronted with a picture of a group of thespians from Hillsborough house. I recognise everone's faces but can only put a name to one of them, and that is Dave Naylor, (who played the drums). Can anyone help with putting names to the faces or even put me in touch with any of them.

Can anyone who was in '1066 and All That' identify the faces in this photo of cast members and back-stage crew?

I've just heard "Oh Happy Day" on the radio. Does anyone remember the concert at the Kurhaus when we sang that? Debbie Goulden and I recently met up for the first time in 18 years, it was great. Anyone else manage a chat over a drink or two? Anyone know where Nige Thomas is.he used to be in Hillsborough WBS or Stephen Stapleton (Stapes) I'm still in touch with Julie Davies too if anyone remembers her. How about a 70's reunion soon. I'd love to hear from anyone who remembers us.

Had a fantastic time at the reunion. It was really great to see the old faces, have to admit the girls hadn't changed a bit but the boys, well that was a different matter. My email address has changed yet again. Would really like to keep in touch, five years between reunions is a really long time. Miss you all.

The next newsletter, due October, will contain some important information about future reunions.

Rather vague about the dates. A lot of water has passed under the bridge since then. I can remember that I was in Sandringham (S12). Left WBS to go to Kings School, Sundern when it opened (Have they got a web site). The photos on the site bring back lots of memories.
Anyone remember me - please e-mail.

Discovered Windsor Society website in June and was thrilled. I was in St James House from age 11 - 13 yrs. Would love to hear from anyone who remembers me or was there at same time. Dorm numbers 209 and 211 seem familiar. Remember Stella Hall, Susan Parker, Michelle Walker, Jane Foy, Susan Whittaker, Damaris Boxall. Was stationed in Dortmund and remember Jenny Foot who was older than me but lived in Attinghauser Strasse opposite me. Also at WGS same time as me but in another house was Susan Pierce who I had known in Hong Kong. My nickname was Podge - midnight feasts of jam and Pickled onion sandwiches to blame for that! Please someone - remember me... post a reply on these pages if you do as I have no email at the moment and I desperately want to make contact with someone!!

Anyone out there remember Housemaster Mr Fulford? Graham Johnson, Roderick Hall, John Sait, Mike Wilson or anyone who was in the other 1966 production of 1066? Have we all grown middle aged disgracefully, or is there life after WBS?
Keith (Froggy) Wilson (E 65-68)

Chris Fulford is well remembered by many members of the Windsor Society as often attends reunions. As for '1066 and All That' - I worked as a scene-shifter and you may have recognised some of the cast and crew faces on the Visitors' book entry page....but does anyone kow their names??
DP.

24 September 2000
To Sue Jaine - yes, I remember you, also your list of names! I also can enlighten visitors about the photo at the start of the visitors' page, as I was the person who took it! Front row, Lyn Dillow; (?); Mary Ann Eagles; second row, Mo Rankine, Phyllis Cousens; Tessa Nolan; Adele Evans; (? didn't know a lot of boys!); Anne?; Pat Hemming; and another unknown boy!

My brother Pat told me about this site, so I thought I'd post a message in the hope that someone might remember me. For my sins I'm a housemaster in a boarding school, which is a fine sort of irony, I suppose.

I recognise a couple of the faces in that photo of the crew but the names keep slipping away, I will look up some photos of my own and check with the write up in the girls school mag at that time and let you know what I find.

Terrible memory for names but re '1066 and All That' - girl in left foreground looks like Lynn Dillow who was in St. James House.

Hi, from Australia, thoroughly enjoyed the re union caught up with a few old friends and overall had a great time albeit so thanks to one and all. Have been trying to email Uggy Pratt with a couple of photographs I took while over there and if anyone can assist me please send me uggy's email address as all I seem to get is returned mail. Similarly with Christine Millar, Gerry Carpenter, John Rigby and Jean Burrell - took some photo's and would like to send them over. Trust this brief message finds you all in the very best of health.

Having now sorted out my way around the site and read most of the messages I believe I can throw some light in some areas.(I cannot believe that it has taken me nearly 5 years to think about searching for Windsor on the WWW)

First I am extremely pleased to hear that Chris Fulford my old house master is still around and look forward to seeing him some time in the near future. Going back to some earlier messages I saw that Pia Ayres (as was) is asking about Steve Blackshaw. He was in the RAF as a navigator variously flying VC10's and Puma helicopters. I have not seen him for about 10 years and I know that he left the RAF in 94.

The only other person who I saw around was Pete Arnold who went through officer training with me in 69 and served until about 93. The last I heard Pete's brother Neal had contracted a nasty tropical disease and was very unwell but that was some time ago now. Unfortunately I do not have contact with either Pete or Steve.

My brother Chris is a house master in a boarding school near Romsey and I know he is in contact with Brian Livingstone who was also in Edinburgh, together with his brother Clive who I gather is married to a German and lives in Germany.

On the question of who was involved in the production of 1066 and all that I always believed the answer was everybody, as it must have had a cast of 100s I was amazed that they found enough people to provide an audience- They must have been desperate when casting as I had 2 tiny parts of which I am inordinately proud and to date they represent my only theatrical experience! I also remember that it was very popular with the boys as all the rehearsals were at the Girls School and when on until quite late in the evening. At the time it all seemed a bit decadent but that shows how naive we were.

As to the photo of the cast and crew, I believe the boy on the right is called David and he was the drummer in the school band but I cannot remember his surname.

You may also remember the production of The Long the Short and the Tall in which my brother had a part and I know he has a number of photos of the production which he could have scanned in. He also has some Concordia magazines dating from the 60's and somewhere around there is a video made from a cine film that my parents took at the boys school during an open day circa 66. As I recall it shows a German Panzer parked in front of the gym and some general shots of from the front pitch - if you can stand the sight of a fairly obnoxious 14 year old who covorts in and out of shot it may be worth digitising and putting on the site if that is possible and if anyone is interested?

Of interest I will be driving to the former RAF Gutersloh (now regrettably an Army barracks) next month on business and with luck may be able to divert through Hamm.

Finally, in answer to Mike Hutchinson's question regarding my whereabouts, I am stationed and HQ STC at High Wycombe and live just outside Marlow and I will contact him soonest.
Pat Rowney (E 64-68)
rowfam@globalnet.co.uk
Thanks, Pat, for putting us in the picture about some of our contemporaries. I remember you and Chris, Pete Arnold and Steve Blackshaw well and was also involved with '1066' and in the cast of 'The Long, the Short and The Tall' during which I recall the Bürgermeister of Hamm, or some similar civic dignitary, being in the front row of the audience and finding three .303 rifles aimed squarely at his forehead from the stage a few feet away - think we were told to aim at the ceiling after that (the rifles were empty of course).
The boy on the right is David 'Biffo' Naylor - did his nickname come from his drumming technique??
I'll be in touch by e-mail about the photos and video.
Good to see so many of 60's "Flower Children" remember the old days...
