Just found this site, both my mum and i went to WGS. My mum Christina Fletcher was there round about 59-62 she was in Hillbrough hse, she can only remember her Maths teacher who was Miss Dalrimmple, she thinks Head of Hillsbrough was Mrs Jones.
I was there 79-81. i left just as it was going to merge. I was in St james then transfered to Canarvon, the Head Mistress when i was there was Miss Brown.

Wow - what a nostalgia trip. As I've browsed the names keep flooding back. Would particularly love to hear from Pat Dempsey and Barbara Yeo. I still remember sharing a dorm with them.

found site thru friends reunited - feel a bit odd about posting - remember very few names - Norma Cousins taught me to love english and angie walker was my friend. was in 3rd and 4th year then went to Goucester school. Remember having to go to chapel - the nasty maroon
uniform, matron and the bathroom and a swimming pool (very very cold)
My sister michelle was there too - but younger - she remembers kim fletcher there were boys and we could meet and hold hands on Kur park - there were also disco things and i vaguely remember there being an annual ball - but boys never did hold much attraction for me. there was an r.e. teacher mr cooling it was a big treat to go home at the weekend with a daygirl- specially if she was from the US I have a year book somewhere i recall being fed a lot and frequently and getting quite round and i hated p.e. anyone remember the same things?

Wow! after coming across this site and actually finding my old school i just couldnt resist putting an entry on here. As a former (Day-Boy) as the borders would call us I had to join the many boys and girls waiting outside Soest Naffi for the buses to take us on the 20+km trek to Hamm. Bags the back seat..... Hi, I have just found this great site with the help of my brother-in-law. i was in Balmoral Hse and remember the great and not so great times i had there. I am not one for remembering names and houses people were in, so here goes, Matron Dilla,Matron Di Silva,Danny Lovejoy,Steve Cronan,Philip(Biffo)Grifiths,John Dudley(House Master),Mr Carey(Teacher), thats just a few, but not forgetting Steve Hollis, who i remember getting very drunk on Pernod one night round his mums in Osnabruck. Anybody remember "PEGLEG"? We had some fun with that prank, especially on the 1st years. Found the site
through friends unite which has put me in touch with a long lost friend.Vivid
memories of midnight feasts with Linda bell and Debbie Kinaston,Where
R they now? My sister Pam was two years above me. I remember being terrified
on my first night at the school when 2 boys climbed through the bedroom

After reading
through 3years of messages its been great to see so many names that just
about ring some bells. (Mario Zammit, Steve McGowan, Micheal Boot, Marino
Meeds) just a few that bring the odd litte memory of the old WBS. Anyone

What a great
School! I never wanted to leave. The life there was perfect (and we did
receive a good education!) My time with sporting activities and cadets
was so enjoyable. I am eternally grateful to Tom Riley for his superb
cricket coaching. I am sixty in October and was playing regularly until
a couple of years ago. I would love to hear from old friends - particularly
Kevin Goad. I am still in touch with Chris Williams (day pupil). I live

by accident! I was a teacher at WGS and I think that my PREP and boarding
duties were in Marlborough. Pauline Brown was the head and Mike Sarney
was the deputy in my days.On Sunday afternoons during my gate duty, I
had to tour the pubs to remove WGS girls!Remember those ADMIN BALLS? Occasionally
at weekends- WGS would go Co-ed and we had to return the boys to WBS during
the night!I lived in Am Huchenholz next door to Peter Marsh, a Science
teacher at WBS.

Please explain to me why this was done.
So the club is independent and not run by the society, well so what. If it was thought worthy of having a link in the first place then why remove it now. Do you not like the idea of a live forum with a membership of over 400.

Hi everyone. Reading some of your e-mails has made me really sentimental. I often think back to the days as a Boarder in Hamm. As one of the few Yanks there I had many trials and tribulations. The three short years a spent at WBS are still etched in my memory. Back pitch fights, legend of pegleg, Mr. Firth's vicious slipper (alleged!), etc... Most are fond memories, though.
