I was at WGS 1964-1966
(St James) and was great friends with a girl called Gloria Hunt. We
managed to keep in touch up to the early 1970's then I lost my address
book. I noticed on this site someone by the name of Ronald Hunt who
I think may be Gloria's brother, please could you let me know if you
are, or if any one else knows Gloria, I would love to get in touch with
her again. We last saw each other in Berlin, she lived at Spandau, in
1973. Thanks in anticipation

Thanks for the link
about the plans of Hamm council to buy up the old Boys' School bit by
bit, Malcolm - just sad that their intention is to pull down the barrack
blocks :-(
If they had enough enterprise, they could offer to sell bricks, fittings,
etc to ex-pupils?
Best wishes Pam

Hi
All - would anyone who has applied for details of joining the Windsor
Society but not included their email address please reapply so I can
email them the details. I am in the process of setting up a PayPal account
so members can pay their subs online - watch this space.
Someone
was concerned that the joining page may access their personal files
- sometimes a warning message appears because the page uses a script.
This page cannot access your computer, the script just collects the
info you put in the form then emails it to me.
Happy
New Year - BillC

Happy New Year to
one and all!! Karsten, I would like to thank you for sharing your recent
pictures with us all and must say how sad it is to see the old place
in such a state. Bill C, Beccy says "Hiya" and asks how your
doing. Also Bill, as regards to the reunion, do we just ring the hotel
and book or is there something that we use as a reference? Looking forward
to seeing everyone there!! Still looking for information on Mike Melia,
Dave Bremner or Steven Forward.
Alan Savage (C71-74)
Alan
the hotel is not completely sorted so we have no reference as yet, mention
the society anyway. Happy New Year to you both and look forward to seeing
you there - sure to be a great party!! - BillC

Happy new year all.
After seeing the messages from Ian Cutts I felt I had to put digits
to keyboard and say hello to Ian and his brother and anyone else from
the late 70s early 80s who may recognise my name.I am currently working
and living in Bahrain (where it is the coldest it has been in over 40
years, should have stayed in Scotland) having worked in Saudi for a
while. My wife is just organising a traditional Burns night for some
friends not one of whom is Scottish so I should get away with the pronunciation.
Now that I have lapsed my membership and cannot put an email address
in the message, I guess I shall have to renew to keep in contact! Failing
that, please leave a message in this

Seeing the photos
kindly sent in makes the rounded tum drop. I have looked through the
messages and see with sadness that my old squeaky hush puppy with a
tom thumb cigar Housemaster Mr H. Jones has passed away.Although I now
work and live in Garda, Italy the reunion beckons with fish chips and
mushy peas adding to the thoughts of sharing what was by far the best
school I attended, shame I did not realise at the time. Yes Mr Jones
you were right all along. Best wishes for 2007 to all.

Hi to all from
Perth, down under. I have been reading messages about the cricket, and
congrats to all Poms on their first win on this tour, even though it
was only against the Kiwis, and in the end they really tried hard to
lose, haha.Sorry to see the state of WBS from the pics. Would like to
hear from any WBS oldies that live in Perth, or anywhere in OZ.

Just a quick hello
to Mark Gill who recently posted a message. I know what you mean about
Mr Jones being right all along Mark! Nice to see a name I recognise;
there doesn't appear to be many around from our era.
I remember you as a nimble full back in the school rugby team. Have
you kept in touch with anybody?

Hello Mark Gill,I
recognise some of the names you mentioned. Here's a few more that might
jog your memory, Andy Reid, Dave Dilly, Brent Manuel, Hewell George
( Dubber ), Andy White, Steve Turner, Andy Cormack, Alex Reid. A few
of these played for the school rugby/football teams along with yourself
and I; I remember we used to wipe the floor with anybody we played against.
Mr Lake took the rugby team in 2nd year and Mr Greedy took over in 3rd
year; I think Mr Farrer took the football team. When are you planning
to come to the UK, we could maybe meet up. I'm living in the Midlands.

Hi to everyoneeeeeeeee
i havn't been here since ohh 2001, membership expired and to be honest
kinda forgot about younger days too busy practicing getting older, and
its tuff lol. My surname was Lancaster and nickname "lofty"
grrr hate that when i look back so if you feel tempted to use that awful
word please refraim from doing so lol. I am interested in reunion in
Summer, promises to be well attended and fun from reading message board.
Yes Chris D, Jacky and Sheryl B, Maz and Angie B, i am attending and
hope to see many more people there. Im currently living in Worthing
near Brighton, not quite riviera, but hey its by the sea!! Two children
have gone off doing their own thing and i got a grand son, scary but
i must admit he is wonderful and after having 2 girls i now realise
difference ha ha. Im working as a Care Manager still but managing naughty
childrens homes, i spend large part of my day instructing physical intervention
methods to restrain people, but its all in a days work and rewarding
its nice to make a difference to some peoples lives. Yes i still talk
alot of shite, right im going now hope to hear and see some reall familiar
faces soon, take care Chris

Happy New Year
to everyone that remembers me. Have just got back from a three week
trip to Thailand, had a fantastic time and would recommend it to anyone,
going back again at the end of the year or beginning of next year. Thinking
about buying a condo over there, property is really cheap. A big hi
to Chris Lancaster, last time I saw you, you were living up North, now
your living in Brighton, about an hour away from me, I'm still living
in Aldershot. I see you are going to the reunion, are you driving or
going up by train? maybe we could go up together, I know my way round
Blackpool as my mum and dad live there. I see you're a granny now, that
makes two of us, I became a granny in September to a little girl (Alyssia
Jade), she's gorgeous but does'nt it make you feel old. Got to go now,
my other half has forgotten where the kitchen is again and wants feeding.
Looking forward to seeing you and everyone else at the reunion, till
then, take care.

Hi Dave Dilly,Good
to hear from you after more years than I care to remember! Give my regards
to Mike Price and Brent for me. I think I remember Mike, 6 foot giant
of the rugby team? One memory is of managing to tackle him at rugby
practice (shortly after he joined the school) and being told by Mr Greedy
what a good tackle it was. If he only knew the truth; eyes
shut, dive and hope for the best!! If you're in the Midlands again,
give me a shout and we'll go for that pint. Not sure how to get my phone
number to you, don't think it's allowed on this site ( please advise
)

Hi John and Dave.Reunion
seems to be a must, just to swap stories and catch up on the pints missed
over the years. 30th June in Blackpool but which hotel or venue? Flight
booked,(helps when employed by Holiday Tour Operator)but do we have
to be members to register or do we just turn up? (Bill C could you advise
please)Yes Dave you have remembered me. The slim now filled out, blond
now highlighted with silver.(but still playing sports)Do either of you
remember playing the 4th years as an exibition match on Concordia 7s
finals day and us just losing plus Christopher Wren School from Shephards
Bush staying in our day rooms, or the battles we had in house matches
be it football, rugby or any sport really.Pressure was on having 2 PE
teachers as Duty Masters and a welshman as a Housemaster.Heres hoping
a few others and the names we have remembered find our messages and
contact the society.
Bill C - Could you mail me details of reunion to hotmail address as
I
am about to tour all ski resorts for work (someone has to do it)
Mark Gill (H73-76)
The
reunion is still not finalised and we have held back the newsletter
until it can be included. You do not need to be a member to come but
members will pay less. Some have tried to book already and have ran
into problems, the hotel is very big and I would suggest you wait until
the details are published before booking - I will post them on here
as soon as they are ready. - BillC
