Going to the reunion
in Weymouth in June, and thought I might put together a music CD of
songs that were performed by Jacks Union at the time I was there. Any
suggestions from those who might remember? Examples :
Baby Come Back, Equals
Words, Bee Gees
Nights in White Satin, Moody Blues

Hi Folks, Reunion
Update: Plans going well, about 120 committed at present. The cut off
date for attending is the 10th May 2010, so if your still thinking about
it make it snappy.

Interesting reading
the site. If anybody remembers me please get in touch. My sister, Carol
and I often talk about our days at the school. Carol lives in Australia
now and would love people to contact her. Has anybody heard anything
of Kathy Valentine, Tim Gadd, Bill Hutchinson, Dilys Wells? I still
see Margaret Day on a monthly basis. Margaret phoned me today to advise
of the sad death of James Aubrey Tredidgo who I see has written on this
blog in the early days.

Nick Welford - unfortunately,
I can't attend the reunion - but some other Jacks Union numbers - To
Love Somebody was a great favourite; if I remember rightly, Young Girl;
Honky Tonk Woman - they certainly did a fair few Moody Blues and BeeGee
numbers. Then their predecessors, Group 66 - do you remember Spanish
Harlem? That was an instrumental number, so that their singer could
go and smooch with his girlfriend. Those were the days, eh? Amazingly,
I am now an OAP - doesn't seem right somehow! Best wishes Pam

Sad to read of the
passing of James Tredidgo. I used to sit on the same dining table as
him in Edinburgh House, and listen to his tales of filming Lord of the
Flies. By a sheer coincidence, my wife also knew him as she was living
in Up Park Camp Jamaica at the time and remembers when the production
team arrived to choose a boy to play the lead part, which James got.

I was a pupil at
WBS at the same time as James Tredidgo.I remember how chuffed the school
was for him.I was sad to learn thro' this site of his passing and pass
on my condolences to his friends and family. It made me think though..........how
many other Windsor pupils male or female went on to fame and fortune
or achieved celebrity status? Any famous sports stars, stage or screen
idols, captains of commerce, industry or the services that you know
of..?

At the risk of sounding
repetitive I would like to hear from anyone living in Oz, NZ or any
other part of Asia. Your country may not need you but the Windsor Society
does. Let me take you down memory lane & put you in touch with friends
from way back when.
Australasia has another reunion coming up in Sept 2011, will you and
your friends be there? Email me fhewarnaby2@bigpond.com

Hi All, Well Things
are moving on swiftly, it is now 8 weeks until the reunion and just
over 2 for the cut-off date. Before we know it we will be travelling
to Weymouth, (can’t wait).
We have roughly 120 attendees at present, no movement from the last
message really. But I’m sure there will be a few more. Can you
all please check your friends lists and if they haven’t been invited
or do not know of the event; can you please let them know.
Once again (sorry
to be a pain) if you have committed and not paid, can you please do
so at the earliest opportunity. If you’re still thinking about
it then you only have just over two weeks left.
I will not turn people away from the door however you will still have
to pay the full amount. And you will not be included in the Buffet.
And as stated before any monies left over will go to `Help for Heroes’
(H4H).
I have been sourcing activities for us during the day time, its proving
very difficult. I have got permission for us to use a Wii (games console).
I have my fingers in a few more pies but, sourcing the items is difficult.
To that end if there is some activity you have in mind, and it’s
easy to source then please let me know. Of course we still have the
facilities for music as well for those of you that are bringing some
with you.
If you need to contact
me for any reason or questions regarding the Re-union event, then please
drop me a line. No-matter what the subject is, personal or not.
The hotel tells me that there are still some double and twin rooms left,
all the singles have gone unfortunately. If you don’t intend to
stay in the `Rembrandt’ there are plenty of other facilities if
required. If you’re having problems with accommodation then let
me know and I’ll try my best to help out.
So in conclusion `NOT LONG NOW!’
